DENNISE
Who is Dennise?
Hi! I’m Dennise but most people know me by my username, asianbellahadid (I’m really not, it was a joke at first!) I’m doing a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, working on the development of new antibiotics, at the University of Auckland. I also own an online vintage shop, DP Vintage and I do social media content on the side.
PhD is basically like a 9-5 job so in my free time, when I’m not walking my two dogs, I love going to cafe’s in the CBD. There’s so many things to do in Auckland and new places are always popping up. I also spend most of my free time online searching for vintage and second-hand designer shoes or re-watching episodes of Sex and the City - I’m usually doing both at the same time!
I’m a true Taurus through and through. Honestly, I’m very materialistic but I’m also a hard worker so I guess that’s a good balance. I’m very stubborn and I stick with what I like. I’m usually very specific with my style and I love things that are simple but are of good quality.
What are your aspirations and inspirations?
Right now, I’m really focusing on moving to another country in the near future. I want to see more of the world and I want to live somewhere unfamiliar but exciting. I guess envisioning a life in my dream city and imagining what kind of person I would be is my inspiration.
How would you describe your style?
When I was younger I loved to experiment with different silhouettes, colours and patterns. But as I’ve matured, I’ve been leaning more into a classic and simple style while still keeping it interesting with unique pieces. I love my vintage items, especially my vintage shoes. I guess my style is a mix of classic modern and unique vintage.
What are your favourite things to do?
I really love going to cafe’s and seeing who does the best oat flat white! I’m very picky with my coffee so I always like comparing different cafes. Right now, my favourite is Mor bakery in Remuera and of course, Daily Bread at Britomart. I love going to Tatty’s in Ponsonby and scavenging for designer clothes on sale. I’m always on the look out for the next local brand pop-up. You’ll probably find me at the next Paris Georgia or Georgia Jay pop-up!
Lastly, how would you style Aimee Georgia?
Aimee Georgia has such classic and timeless pieces that are so easy to dress up or down. I love the 90’s minimalist style and Aimee Georgia embodies that style so well. The Isabella top paired with loose grey trousers, a vintage leather jacket and a pair vintage pointy shoes would make such a chic outfit!
With love always,
Aimee Georgia x
